Rising Owl.. ( Quilled )

Hi friends......Wish you a very happy X-mas ...!!!  It has been more than 3-4 months since posted anything on my little space in the blogworld.  Yes..I've not been blogging, but my creative world was not totally silent. he..he.... You think an adicted quiller like me  can stay idle..??? No way.....!!

So here is my new project ..The rising colourful Owl...!!   I was actually inspired by the design which I got from internet. I should thank the artist who made this fantastic design.  And I would like to thank my husband for getting me the print out and all the quilling paper that I needed. Here I used the pinning method to make it. It took me more than one week to finish. The design was pinned on a cork board and overlayed with a butterpaper.  (The butter paper was used to avoid the work getting sticked to the design.)  Quilled coils were placed and pinned above the design and glued to each other. It was a real struggle to make it's eyes and beak.... despite the struggle the outcome was satisfying.  Material used for this work are 3 mm strips and wood texture wall paper for the background.  The finished work is framed in a wooden frame of 50 X 50 cm with  29 X 29 cm inner work space.  Thats all about the detail...... Hope u like it....

And Yes... my dear friends,  I do appreciate those who visited my blog during my absence and left sweet comments and encouragement..... Thank u so much...

Flowerpot with double fringed flowers

Hi Friends....

Welcome to Laurus Cassia, This time I'd like to show a flower pot with double fringed flowers. I made the flowers using the double fringed technique of Yellow nd Light Green Crepe paper. I think with crepe paper it is very easy to make the duble fringed flowes. There are 14-15 flowers I made to fill the vase...
Hope the pictures will help u to get the details about ths creation....

Note: To learn the technique of double fringed flowes pls watch our famous Quiller
          Inna Dorman's tutorial http://increations.blogspot.com/2009/02/fringed-flowers-ii.html .

Thank you...

Quilled flowers in Orange - Yellow Combo.

Hi dear friends....

Here is a simple framework I made this week. Hmmm.... there is a craze going on with new flower ideas...I think this flowers are not  new one but not common...Anyway I tried this for the first time.  All other flowers, leaves nd swirls are simple and everything (except the fringed flowers ) I made with the 3 mm standard strips....I used some different coloured punch flowers that I made months back..Just I saw that in my stash and I decided to use them here.  I think it is matching...right..?  That's all for now dear friends ....
 Have a nice day...

Thank u ......

Spring....Flowers & Butterfly...

Hi friends....

This is my latest finished project. Just sharing a spring mood.....Actually I always like to use  bright colours, but here I tried to find some beauty in light tones. Just a simple flower arrangement, but Im so sorry for the butterfly dear friends....I know this is not a perfect one, at the same time Im lazy to make another one.....For the flowers I used 1/8"( 3 mm) standard dark centered  green nd red strips, and fix the punched flower for the centre . For the butterfly  1/16" (1.5 mm) purple nd red strips.
I added some pink pearls also for a finish.
Pls do let me know what u think about ths...

 Thank u ...

Quilled Grapes and Red Berries

Hi Friends,
Have a Good Day.....
Flowers turned to fruits ....! Yes....  when I bought ths multi coloumn frame, I decided to fix some quilled fruits in it. Grapes nd Berries...quiet familiar in quilling world....
For grapes I made 35-40 domes (2-3 standard 1/8" strips, length- approximately 35cm each ) nd for leaves I draw the leaf nd quilled on tht..  Red berries...!! I love it ..... In many blogs I saw the same quilled red berries but this is the real inspiration behind my project. For all items I used 3 mm quilling strips nd sandal colour wallpaper for the background.
It is little bit difficult to fix the work perfectly inside the three boxes. But I love taking challenges.  Pls go through the detailed pictures dear friends.... hope u'll enjoy...

Thank u so much....
Happy Quilling. .....

Malaysian Flower bunch.....

Hi friends....

Yes...Quilling can refresh my mind ...So this time I decided to make a 3D flower bunch. For this work I've chosen the famous   Malaysian flower  pattern with yellow & white combination.I thought it'll sync beautifully with dark green leaves. The heart shaped leaves and buds are also 3dimensional. Its around 52-55 leaves. for flowers, leaves and buds I used 3mm paper strips. It took me about two weeks to finish. I know it is quiet a long time. Many of you can finish the same quickly...But u know friends.....My schedule is so tight with my two naughty little ones....hmmm......at last I finished it...this finished work is framed in a white 12x12cm , (4 3/4 x 4 3/4) deep frame....

pls go through the pictures....hope it'll help to get more details about this
project..

Happy quilling...'ve a nice day....
